event hosts most important question:
How to create an unforgettable EVENT experience?
A cordial welcome by your Conference Guy(de), Göran Hielscher. Conferences: There are the Hello's & the Hi's, the stages, guidelines, conference passes, welcome drinks. Yet, how often we question the given protocol with some valuable how's?
How to curate really enticing surprises?
How can we keep the spark percolating?
How does the audience to open truly up?
How to ensure they speak a connectable language?
How to make story seeds bloom into shared WOW!-experiences?
How do we do that without over-facilitating, yet under-structuring?
I may have a some suggestions – based on 20 years of facilitation, communication and creativity – to support your outcome. From the backstage to frontstage.
what truly matters
Create connection before content!
Conferences are awesome. But why do we gather as we do? What feats and tricks can we apply to make our audience click faster, transcend social barriers, and leave artificial formalities behind that do not serve the best outcome? I found answers in Experience Design and Relational Facilitation. My mission is to make human encounters rock. Especially in staged experiences. I was a festival junkie for years and turned into a conferences lover. Not all conferences are designed in favour of connection and conveying the message? Some appear like technocratic people fairs and end with exhaustion and mental overload. That's why I asked myself: Why not create something like the unforgettable bonfire experience and fuse together the best of festival, pitch, ritual, friends dinner, speed dating and a festival weekend in an appropriate scale, where we meanwhile learning from each other with more joy?

My top workplace?
People gatherings!
When I learned one thing about people: it's always about people. That's why I was shapeshifting intensely in 20 years of working experience in organisations, events, cruises and festivals. Once connection is ensured, each content can follow.

The best things about my work are said by those who benefited from collaborating with me and used my love for human connection, conceptual and facilitation skills, and ambition for wholesome experiences that make our encounterings even greater. Here are some:

Who is this conference guy?
Hi, my name is Göran. I am a traveller, a movement addict, a people connector and a foodie. By profession, I learned graphic design copywriting, coaching, communication, systems thinking, systems mapping, Design Thinking and relationship dynamics. Even though my first profession was as a graphic design freelancer in 2004, my first job was in design and communication workshops on a cruise ship. This went on. In my career, I facilitated hundreds of workshops, and my most frequent topics were:
The Human Connection (Lab)
Communication that works
Communication spaces
Leadership Training
Team building events
Storytelling bonfire
Design Thinking
Creativity training
Speaker training
Conflict resolution
Warm-up games
The Human Connection Lab is my cordial recommendation for any conference, as it supports people cracking open and bonding firmly, which supports the deepening of any event experience. It is all about the connections, isn't it?My foundation is the focus on the trinity of people, place, and process, and everything I have learned from studying life travels, and a bit of academics in communication, innovation, relationship dynamics, systems thinking. My hobby is DJing, and I love to deliver quite eclectic, super danceable and funky downtempo adventures.

A connected world needs connected people.
How will we rise together?
If something always made a difference, then it was a conversation. Or two. Relating through words turned into action. So here we go, rather directly by an email, a call or WhatsApp message (preferred) via the button below or a good old email.

What is conference x-ray?
Why it matters for organizers:
Running an event leaves little time to notice the subtle dynamics that shape the guest experience. The Conference Experience Scan provides an independent, focused view that helps you understand and optimize what really happens during your event. With my background in corporate events, cruises and festivals I provide a high-resolution perspective. As a facilitator I gain quickly trust from people, thus catching authentic live voices is an easy achievement to do for me. As a neurodivergent I do have a heightened perception to detail, that entails great witness qualities.
Why it matters to organisers
Observe the full event journey (arrival → networking → plenaries → workshops → transitions → evening program).
Track key dynamics: energy in the room, flow of people, quality of dialogue, networking hotspots, bottlenecks, delight and frustration moments.
Document insights through field notes and simple visual mappings.
Deliver a concise 4-6 page Insights Report plus an optional 60-minute debrief.
Your benefits:
Independent perspective you can’t access while being in “execution mode.
Clear, actionable suggestions for optimizing future editions.
Deeper understanding of where guest experience truly lands — beyond post-event surveys.
